To force Windows to use a GPU for a particular app using the Windows display settings, follow the steps below:ġ.Global Settings | Program Settings > Preferred graphics processor setting. If the OS does not specify a graphic processor preference for a given application, then users can specify the preferred graphics processor to use from the NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > The graphics processor that the Windows 10 OS selects overrides any settings made in the NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Global Settings | Program Settings >Preferred graphics processor setting for that application.Consequently, the “Run with graphics processor” option is no longer available from the context menu in Windows Update as there was in previous OS versions. There is no longer a “Run with graphics processor” option in the NVIDIA Control Panel Dekstop Menu to enable.
